Known to his Friends as “Bimmy”

Donald E. DeTurck

Bim was born, raised and resided in the Oley Valley.

 

 After graduating from the Oley Valley High School in 1961,

he was off to the U.S. Navy,  where he specialized in electronics/interior Communications.

Upon his return, he began working for Cabot Performance Material in Boyertown. He was employed there for over 39 years as a Controls Engineer.

Few years later was married to Maggie Reber,

A new arrival to the family was a baby boy named Lonnie Lee DeTurck.

Bim loved the sport of racing motorcycle and instilled that in Lonnie.

In 1993 another new addition to the DeTurck family was daughter in- law Deb Miller

Then came Grand kids Jesse & Ashley.

Which were the Pride and Joy of the DeTurck Family.

Bimmy developed his interest in motorcycle racing for over 38 years being involved with the Reading Motorcycle in Oley and  The American Motorcycle Association (A.M.A) DeTurck was life member of both.

Four times serving as President of the R.M.C,  he has also held multiple other offices with the club.

Bim was a leader, he was not afraid to take charge to see that things got done .

Bim was a  proud man that loved his family, his club

and the thrill of racing.

Through his Family and Friends his memory lives on…

Bim wanted what was best for his club and racetrack

He would proudly say

 

 “The Youth are our Future”
